The Ministries of Culture and Justice, in collaboration with the Prison Administration, are pleased to launch the call for projects Access to Culture – Culture in prison. Aimed at associative structures of the cultural sector, the call encourages the development of cultural projects with the inmates of the Penitentiary Center of Luxembourg and the Penitentiary Center of Givenich.
With a view to integration, and through participative or contemplative cultural activities to be offered by the applicant associations, the call aims to offer the inmates of the above-mentioned penitentiary centers the possibility to reconnect with a part of society, to discover or revive new means of expression, while developing their talents or passions.
Culture in prison is part of the implementation of the objectives of an inclusive cultural policy pursued, among others, by the Access to Culture call series, of which this call marks the third episode. The project also contributes to the implementation of recommendations 49 "Develop specific and integrative actions" and 51 "Develop active participation and cultural citizenship" of the Kulturentwécklungsplang 2018-2028.
The conditions and criteria of the call can be found on the website of the Ministry of Culture.
